Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the hire?

Prices given are for a one day hire period. If you would like a quotation for a longer hire period, please contact us.


Is there a minimum order?

For items collected from our Essex Studio (CM7 3SS), there is no minimum hire spend.

For items being delivered by Rock the Day, minimum order thresholds are based on distance from our studio; please contact us with your venue address for details.


How much is the delivery charge?

Delivery within 10 miles of our Essex Studio is free. Between 10 and 40 miles will be charged at £1 per mile, and includes set up & de-rig.


Can we collect items ourselves?

Yes, but please check ahead of ordering that you have an adequate vehicle to transport the relevant props, as cancellation charges will apply if you’re unable to take the item(s) with you. Measurements of all props are online, but if you’re unsure whether item(s) will fit, please contact us.

If you do choose to collect, hired items remain your responsibility at all times, including during transportation.


What happens if a hire item is broken during a hire?

Customers are responsible for all hired items from when they are delivered/collected until they are collected/returned. If an item is broken, we will try to find the best way to repair it and will invoice the customer the repair costs (not exceeding the total value of the item). If an item is beyond repair, a replacement fee will apply. All replacement costs are listed on our website.

We will inform you within 5working days if there is any damage or loss to your order.


What are the Terms of Payment?

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking and all items you have specified on your order.

The final balance must be paid 6 weeks prior to your event.


Can I cancel my booking?

Please note that the 50% deposit is non-refundable in all scenarios.

More than 30 days before event (or day one of hire): 50% of full hire value refunded.

Between 29 and 15 days before event (or day one of hire): 25% of full hire value refunded.

Less than 14 days before before event (or day one of hire): No refund available.

To cancel, you must inform us in writing. Timings above are in reference to Rock the Day receiving written notice.
