Creating a Christmas window display

After the worst year for many in business (and especially retail!), I decided last minute that, for once, we should make a little more effort about making my shop, Rock The Frock Bridal Boutique, look stunning for the festive season. We definitely all needed a pick-me-up after the year we’ve had and the wonder of the festive season was long overdue! However, there was no way I was able to come up with an idea in such a short space of time for my shop window display!

 

As someone who has little time and little creative flair when it comes to window dressing, the thought of creating a Christmas shop window filled me with dread! Christmas isn’t really something that makes me feel creative and to keep fresh ideas year after year is hard! Luckily for me, I was able to employ the amazing ladies at Rock The Day to create something incredible from literally no brief! I had zero ideas – all I knew was that I wanted a cool and cute Christmas display which was far from tacky and drew attention to our shop from passing customers.

 

Forget chintzy tinsel and garish flashing lights – my shop window needed something elegant, understated and beautiful and that’s exactly what I got! Working with professional window dressers really makes such a difference! I know that I would have created something truly tragic and scouring round for hours trying to find Christmas decorations was simply impossible for me.

 

The talented ladies at Rock The Day were able to create our beautiful shop window display from zero with very short notice and practically no input from me in a morning. Working with Rock The Day is always a pleasure and I know from experience that they can create anything from a window display to a full on styled event due to their creative flair and can-do attitude. Laura & Alex arrived with a van full of beautiful hand-made props and Christmas items that transformed our blank page of a shop window into a magical little scene.

With  gingerbread houses, twinkling lights and Christmas tree they were able to produce a wonderful scene, finishing it off with hand-painted baubles and snow directly onto our window. The result is truly special and we are so glad we employed professionals to do this for us as the result is way above and beyond what we could have created ourselves.

We have had so many lovely comments about our window and it also gave us some much-needed Christmas content for our social channels too! Having Rock The Day install our shop window display was certainly an investment worth every penny and we can’t wait to work with them again next year!
